Basic French Onion Soup Recipe
Ingredients
| 1/2 yellow onion, peeled and sliced for each bowl | ||
| 1 tablespoon butter for each bowl | ||
| Dash of dry sherry for each bowl | ||
| Fresh-grated Parmesan or Romano cheese | ||
| 1 1/2 cups Basic Brown Soup Stock boiling | ||
| Salt | To Taste | |
| French bread, toasted | ||
| 1 slice Swiss cheese for each bowl | ||
Directions
Saute yellow onions in butter.
Place 2 tablespoons onions in a 12 ounce soup bowl, and add dry sherry and Parmesan or Romano cheese.
Add soup stock and salt to bowl.
