Classic French Onion And Cheese Soup Recipe
Ingredients
| Large onions - 4 , thinly sliced | ||
| Butter/Margarine | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Condensed beef broth - 3 cans (10 1/2 -ounce) | ||
| Worcestershire sauce | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| French or hard rolls - 2 , sliced and toasted | ||
| Grated Parmesan cheese OR shredded sharp natural Cheddar cheese | ||
Directions
MAKING
1.Take a large saucepan and heat butter in it.
2.Saute onions for 20 minutes in it until light brown.
3.Stir in the broth and Worcestershire sauce.
4.Let the mixture boil.
5.Add a sprinkling of salt and pepper to it.
6.Place the mixture until a broiler so that the cheese turns light brown in color.
SERVING
7.Serve warm in bowls garnished with cheese toast.
