Classic French Onion Soup Recipe
Ingredients
| Onions | 3 Large, thinly sliced | |
| Butter/Margarine | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 2 tbs. instant beef bouillon or 6 bouillion cubes | ||
| Hot water | 4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Worcestershire sauce | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| French bread slice | 4 , toasted | |
| Parmesan cheese | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), grated | |
Directions
In large skillet or slow-cooking pot with browning unit, cook onions in butter until lightly browned.
In pot, combine browned onions in butter with bouillon, water, Worcestershire sauce, and salt.
Cover and cook on low 4 to 6 hours.
Top each bowl with toasted French bread sprinkled with cheese.
Makes 4 servings.
Recipe may be doubled, kept hot in slow-cooking pot, and served from pot.
