French Green Peas Recipe
Ingredients
| 1/2 medium-size head iceberg lettuce | ||
| Butter/Margarine | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Water | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Yellow onion | 1 Small, chopped | |
| Green | 2 Pound, frozen | |
| 1 tablespoon chopped fresh or 1 teaspoon dried parsley | ||
Directions
1. Remove the core and outer leaves of the lettuce. Slice the head into thin shreds.
2. Place the butter, water, sugar, and salt into a 2-quart saucepan. Top with the lettuce, then the onion, then the peas. Sprinkle with the parsley and cover.
3. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer about 10 minutes, or until the peas are tender. Spoon the peas along with any juices into individual dishes.
