French Fried Camembert Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 x 125 g / 4 oz rounds Camembert cheese, well chilled | ||
| Egg | 1 , beaten | |
| 1 cup / 125 g / 4 oz dried breadcrumbs | ||
| Vegetable oil | ||
| Black cherry jam | ||
| Creme fraiche | ||
Directions
1. Cut each Camembert round into 3 wedges. Dip each wedge in egg then roll in breadcrumbs to coat.
2. Heat 2.5 cm / 1 in oil in a frying pan over a medium heat, until a cube of bread dropped in browns in 50 seconds. Add cheese wedges and cook for 3-4 minutes each side or until golden. Drain on absorbent kitchen paper and serve immediately with jam and creme fraiche.
