Traditional French Dressing Recipe
Ingredients
| Olive oil or salad oil - 2 tablespoons | ||
| Vinegar or lemon juice - 1 tablespoon | ||
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper - 1-2 shakes | ||
| Pinch of dry mustard, if liked | ||
| Caster sugar | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Directions
MAKING
1. In a small basin, add seasoning; pour in vinegar or lemon juice and blend.
2. Put in olive oil.
3. Whisk well with a fork until an emulsion is formed and the dressing appears cloudy.
4. The dressing has to be used immediately, as the oil and vinegar wills separate again if allowed to stand.
SERVING
5. Serve the French dressing separately with salad; use it for preparing the Green Salad.
