Ingredients

 
1/3 cup shortening
 
1 cup sugar
 
1 egg
 
1 1/2 cups flour
 
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
 
1/2 teaspoon salt
 
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
 
1/2 cup milk
 
6 tablespoons butter, melted
 
1 teaspoon vanilla
 
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

Mix together shortening, 1/2 CUP sugar and egg.
Sift flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg together.
Stir dry ingredients into creamed mixture alternately with milk.
Fill greased muffin tins 2/3 full.
Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Roll immediately in butter and then in a mixture of 1/2 CUP sugar and cinnamon.
