French Bread With Garlic Spread Recipe

1 loaf French bread
 
1/3 cup soft butter
 
1/2 tsp. garlic salt or garlic powder

Directions

Cut bread in half lengthwise and crosswise.
Slice into 1/2-inch slices (do not slice through bottom of loaf).
In glass cup, melt butter with garlic (high) 30-40 seconds.
Brush butter on each slice.
Place halves together to reform loaf.
Move center slices toward outside edges.
Microwave medium-high (70%) wrapped in paper towel or cloth 45-60 seconds, rotating 1/4 turn halfway through cooking.
