Ingredients

 Dried Great Northern or Navy Beans- 1/2 pound
 Water6 Cup (16 tbs)
 Dry red wine1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Lean Salt Pork or Smoked Ham- 12 ounces, cut into 1-inch cubes
 Potatoes3
 Garlic2 Clove (5gm)
 Salt1 1/2 Teaspoon
 Black pepper1/4 Teaspoon
 Frozen Green Beans- 1 10-ounce package, defrosted
 Tomatoes3
 Parsley1 Tablespoon, chopped

Directions

GETTING READY
1) In a slow cooker, soak beans in water overnight.
2) Do not drain the water.

MAKING
3) Stir in wine, pork, potatoes, garlic, salt, and pepper.
4) Put the lid on and cook over high heat for about 3 hours until the vegetables are tender.
5) Stir in the green beans and tomatoes and allow to cook for 10 minutes more.

SERVING
6) Serve hot sprinkled with chopped parsley.
