Freezer Cheese Sticks Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 loaf (1 lb.) white sandwich bread, unsliced | ||
| Egg white | 1 | |
| Butter/Margarine | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), softened | |
| 1 jar (5 oz.) pasteurized process sharp cheese spread, at room temperature | ||
Directions
Place bread in freezer until frozen solid.
Trim crusts from frozen bread with a long, sharp knife.
Slice bread horizontally into 3 equal layers; cut each layer crosswise into 3/4-inch strips.
Lightly beat egg white, add butter and cheese spread and beat until well blended and smooth.
Spread on all sides of bread sticks.
Place about 1 inch apart on greased baking sheets, cover with clear plastic film, and freeze until firm (at least 3 hours).
Bake frozen sticks in a 325° oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
Serve piping hot.
