Ingredients

 
1 can (16 oz.) tomatoes
 
1 onion, chopped
 
1 teaspoon salt
 
1/8 teaspoon pepper
 
Few grains ground cloves
 
1 env. Unflavored gelatin
 
1/4 cup cold water
 
4 to 6 frankfurters, cut in pieces

Directions

Mix together in a saucepan the tomatoes, onion, salt, pepper, and cloves; simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, soften gelatin in cold water.
Remove tomato mixture from heat; strain into a bowl.
Immediately add the softened gelatin and stir until gelatin is dissolved.
Chill until mixture is slightly thicker than thick, unbeaten egg white.
Mix in the frankfurter pieces.
Turn into a shallow pan and chill until firm.
