Frank's Honeyed Turnip Recipe

1 l-to-1 1/2 lb (500 g-750 g) turnip
 
1/2 cup (125 mL) water
 
3 tbsp (50 mL) honey
 
Grated rind of 1/2 a lemon
 
1 tbsp (15 mL) fresh lemon juice
 
1 tbsp (15 mL) butter
 
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

€¢ Pare as for Turnips Nature and slice the turnip into thin slices. Place in a microwave-safe dish with all the ingredients, except the salt and pepper.
€¢ Stir well, cover. Microwave at HIGH 10 to 14 minutes, depending on the size of the turnip. Stir twice during the cooking period, and check done-ness of the turnip.
€¢ Drain the liquid from the cooked turnip into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave the liquid at HIGH until it is reduced to about 1/4 cup (60 mL).
€¢ Pour over the turnip. Salt and pepper to taste.
