Frankfurters and Sauerkraut Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 tablespoons drippings, margarine, butter or other fat | ||
| Sauerkraut | 2 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), drained | |
| Brown sugar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 1 tart apple, cored and sliced | ||
| Boiling water | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Frankfurters | 8 | |
Directions
1. Heat the drippings in a large frying pan, add the sauerkraut, sugar, apple and water. Cover and simmer 10 minutes, or until the apple is tender.
2. Top with frankfurters sliced lengthwise. Cover and simmer 10 minutes more.
