Frankfurt Torte Recipe
Frankfurt Torte was my family cook's signature dish, now that he's gone I have taken up the task of preparing it for the family. The European Frankfurt Torte is generally consumed as a Dessert. This dish is a superior Diabetic dish. Try this Frankfurt Torte once and only once! Your loyalty to it forever is guaranteed!
Ingredients
2 1/2 cup cake flour
Dash salt
1/3 cup granulated brown sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup margarine
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp water
3/4 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup Powdered Sugar
Directions
Combine cake flour, salt, brown sugar replacement and baking powder in bowl.
Add margarine; work into crumbs.
Reserve 1 c. (250 mL) crumbs for topping.
Combine baking soda and water, stirring to dissolve.
Add buttermilk and baking soda water to remaining crumbs; stir to completely blend.
Pour into 9 x 5 in. (23 x 13 cm) well greased loaf pan and sprinkle with reserved crumbs.
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50 to 60 minutes, or until done, and then let cool.
Sprinkle sifted powdered sugar replacement over top.

Combine baking soda and water, stirring to dissolve.
