| 10-12 slices stale bread | ||
| 2 1/2 cups apple wine or juice | ||
| Raisins | 3 Tablespoon | |

Directions
Peel and core the apples and cut into slices.
Sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent discoloration, then sprinkle with the sugar and cinnamon.
Toast the bread slices in a moderate oven (350° F) for 10-12 minutes, until they are lightly browned and very dry.
Rub through a coarse strainer or grind in a blender.
Add enough apple wine to the crumbs to moisten them thoroughly.
Put half the bread mixture in a greased baking dish.
Spoon over the apple slices and sprinkle with the raisins.
