Frankburgers Recipe
Ingredients
1 can (10 3/4 ounces) condensed tomato soup
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
6 frankfurter buns, split and toasted
6 frankfurters, split lengthwise
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 tablespoons chopped green pepper
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon vinegar
Directions
Combine 1/3 cup soup, beef, salt, pepper, and 1 teaspoon chili powder; mix thoroughly.
Spread meat mixture evenly over buns; cover edges completely.
Firmly press 2 frankfurter halves, cut side up, into the center of each bun half.
Bake on broiler pan at 450°F.
for 12-15 minutes.
Meanwhile, in saucepan, cook onion and green pepper with remaining chili powder in butter until tender.
Stir in remaining soup, sugar, and vinegar.
Heat; stir occasionally.
