Ingredients
1 13 x 9-inch Italian Sponge Cake
1 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
About 1/2 cup large fresh blueberries
2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
Directions
Place cake on an attractive serving dish or platter.
Beat cream in a medium-size bowl until soft peaks form.
Beat in honey and vanilla extract.
Spread whipped cream in an even layer over top of cake.
Place 2 lines of blueberries at right angles in top left-hand corner so that they form a 4-inch square.
Fill square with additional lines of blueberries.
Leave a bit of white cream showing between berries.
Use overlapping sliced strawberries to form horizontal red stripes at top and bottom of the rest of the cake.
Fill in with additional stripes, leaving cream showing between stripes.
