Foolproof Apple Cake Recipe

Combine apple and sugar in a bowl; stir well.
Let stand 10 minutes.
Combine flour and next 4 ingredients in a large bowl; make a well in center of mixture.
Combine apple mixture, oil, vanilla, and egg white.
Add to dry ingredients, stirring well (batter will resemble streusel topping).
Press batter gently into an 8-inch square baking pan coated with cooking spray.
Bake at 350Â° for 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Let cool completely in pan on a wire rack.
