Floating Island Recipe
Floating Island has a lovely taste. Floating Island gets its taste from eggs mixed with milk and cornstarch and topped with nutmeg. Floating Island is inspired by many restaurants across the world.
Ingredients
4 eggs
1 qt. milk
1 cup, plus 2 teaspoons, sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
Nutmeg
Directions
Separate the egg yolks and whites.
Add 1 cup sugar and the cornstarch to the yolks, stirring briskly until creamy.
Add milk slowly and stir till smooth.
Put the mixture in the top of a double boiler over hot water, and stir until thick.
Beat the egg whites until stiff, and stir into them the vanilla and 2 teaspoons sugar.
Pour the egg whites into the milk mixture, stirring for 5 minutes.
Take off the fire and let cool.
Dust with nutmeg, if desired.
Place in refrigerator.
