1/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup beer
1/2 cup catsup
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons wine vinegar

1/4 teaspoon garlic salt Chopped green onions (optional)
Directions
Combine ground beef, salt, and pepper; mix well.
Shape into 1-inch meat balls.
Cook in hot shortening over medium heat 10 to 15 minutes or until browned.
Drain well on paper towels.
Combine next 6 ingredients in a medium saucepan; stir well.
Add meat balls; simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Garnish with green onions, if desired.
Serve warm
