Five-Spice Tofu With Peanut Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

 
1 medium onion, chopped
 
1 clove garlic, minced
 
1 tsp (5 ml) grated ginger root
 
1 crushed dried chile pepper
 
1 tbs (15 ml) oil
 
2 cups (480 ml) hot water
 
1 cup (240 ml) unsweetened grated coconut
 
1/2 cup (120 ml) peanut butter
 
1 tbs (15 ml) tamari
 
3 6.1-oz pkgs (549 g) Baked Five-Spice Tofu, 1-inch cubed

Directions

Saute onion, garlic, ginger root and dried chile pepper in oil until onion is clear.
Blend water, coconut, peanut butter and tamari in a blender or food processor.
Add to the onions and stir well as it thickens.
Add tofu to the sauce and heat through.
