Fish With Anise Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
| Fillet of Sole- 2 pounds | ||
| Flour | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Oil | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Scallions | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs), finely chopped | |
| Garlic | 3 Clove (5gm) | |
| Anise | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Dried Ground Chili Peppers- 1/2 teaspoon | ||
| Vinegar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Sugar | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Water | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Anchovy paste | 2 Teaspoon | |
Directions
MAKING
1) Cut the fish in bite-size pieces.
2) In a bowl, toss the fish with the flour.
3) In a skillet, heat 1/4 cup of oil and brown the fish in it.
4) Remove and drain on a paper napkin.
5) In the same skillet, heat the remaining oil and sauté the scallions for 5 minutes.
FINALIZING
6) Stir in the garlic, anise, chili peppers, vinegar, sugar and water.
7) Simmer the mixture for 20 minutes.
8) Stir in the anchovy paste and return the fish, cook for 5 minutes more.
9) Taste for seasoning.
SERVING
10) Serve Fish With Anise Sauce hot with steamed rice.
