Fish Slaw Recipe
Fish slaw is a fish salad prepared with halibut fillets. Cooked and tossed with cabbage along with sweet pickles and onions for taste, the fish slaw can be dressed with mayo or salad dressing as desired.
Ingredients
| 1 pound frozen halibut fillets, thawed | ||
| 3/4 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing | ||
| 2 tablespoons chopped sweet pickle | ||
| Onion | 2 Tablespoon, chopped | |
| Vinegar | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Shredded cabbage | 2 Cup (16 tbs), chilled | |
Directions
Place fillets in 1 quart boiling water with 1 tablespoon salt.
Simmer, covered, 10 minutes, or till fish flakes easily with fork; drain.
Remove skin and bones; flake fish.
Combine fish with next 4 ingredients and 1 teaspoon salt.
Chill 1 hour.
Add cabbage; toss lightly.
Sprinkle with paprika, if desired.
