Fish Cakes Recipe
Ingredients
| Mashed potato | 8 Ounce | |
| 8 oz. cooked fish, cod, hake or other white fish | ||
| 1 egg or 1/4 pint thick white sauce | ||
| Coaling flour | ||
| 1 egg crisp breadcrumbs | ||
| Fat for shallow frying | ||
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
Mix the potatoes and cooked flaked fish thoroughly with a fork.
Add the beaten egg or sauce, salt and pepper.
Form into about 8 flat cakes.
Roll these cakes in a little flour, then brush lightly with beaten egg and coat with breadcrumbs.
Heat the fat in a frying pan and when hot fry the cakes quickly on one side, turn and fry again on the other side.
Drain on crumpled kitchen or tissue paper; serve at once.
