Ingredients
2 pounds fish fillets or slices
Salt and pepper
1 large onion, sliced
1 cup dry white wine
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 large tomatoes, peeled and thinly sliced, or 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
1/2 green pepper, sliced
2 teaspoons Worcestershire
Directions
Sprinkle fish with salt and pepper; cover with sliced onion; pour wine over all and marinate 30 minutes.
Melt butter in a large, shallow baking pan; remove fish and onion from wine and place in pan.
Cover with tomatoes and green pepper; sprinkle with salt.
Bake uncovered in a 375° oven about 35 minutes, or until fish flakes with a fork and no longer is translucent in the center.
Baste frequently with a mixture of the wine in which the fish was soaked and the Worcestershire.
