| 500 g / 1 lb oven fries | ||

| 4 boneless firm white fish fillets | ||
| Beer batter | ||
| 1 cup / 125 g / 4 oz flour | ||

| 3/4 cup / 185 mL / 6 fl oz beer | ||

Directions
1. To make batter, place flour in a bowl and make a well in the centre. Add egg whites, beer and 1 tablespoon vegetable oil and mix until smooth.
2. Cook oven fries according to packet directions.
3. Heat 5 cm / 2 in oil in a frying pan over a medium heat until a cube of bread dropped in browns in 50 seconds. Dip fish into batter, add to pan and cook for 3 minutes each side or until golden brown. Drain on absorbent kitchen paper. Serve with oven fries.
