Filled Butter Rings Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 cup soft butter or margarine | ||
| Sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| All purpose flour | 3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Crab apple or other jelly | ||
Directions
Cream butter and 1/4 cup sugar; add flour and salt and mix well.
Roll out to 1/8 -inch thickness and cut with floured 2-inch cutter.
Cut out centers of half of cookies with 1 1/4 inch cutter.
Arrange on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake in preheated hot oven (400°F.) for about 10 minutes.
Just before serving, spread whole cookies with jelly, piled higher at center.
Top with cookie rings.
Sprinkle confectioners' sugar around edges, if desired.
