Fig Nut Confection Recipe
Ingredients
| Dried figs | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Pecans and walnuts | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/3 cup BASIC CAROB SYRUP | ||
| Milk powder | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Honey | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Butter | 1 Tablespoon | |
Directions
Soak figs in boiling water for about 10 minutes.
Drain and dry on paper towels.
Remove ends and put through food chopper, along with nuts, using medium blade.
Mix figs and nuts and pat into an 8 x 8-inch square on a buttered pan or sheet.
In a small saucepan, mix carob syrup, milk powder, honey, and butter.
Stir over low heat for about 5 minutes, until well blended.
Spread one-half of carob mixture over fignut square.
Chill, turn square over, and spread remaining carob mixture over the other side.
Cut into small squares.
