Ingredients

 
Fiery smothered shrimp
 
1 sweet onion
 
5 garlic cloves
 
Extra virgin olive oil
 
1 stick of butter
 
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
 
½ tablespoon cayenne pepper
 
½ tablespoon ground sandia peppers
 
½ cup Worcestershire sauce
 
¼ cup hot sauce (Cholula or Crystal)
 
2 lemons
 
2 limes
 
2 lbs deveined medium-sized shrimp

Directions

Slice onion and separate into rings. Crush and dice garlic cloves. In a large skillet on high heat, add the sliced onion and garlic. Coat with a little olive oil and cook until the onions are soft and have blackened a little. Remove onion mixture and place in a large mixing bowl.
In the same skillet, melt the butter and add the spices, Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce. Bring to a boil.
Cut lime and lemon into round slices. Add to the bowl with onions and garlic, along with shrimp. Pour butter mixture over top.
Toss until everything is coated, then pour into a 9x13 glass pan. Cook in the oven at 325 degrees for 20 minutes, tossing mixture halfway through. Once the shrimp are cooked, use a slotted spoon to remove them. Garnish with onions and citrus rounds. Serve hot.Please see video .
