Ingredients

 
1 pound fettuccine
 
1/4 pound sliced bacon
 
1 medium onion, finely chopped
 
1 clove garlic, minced
 
1 can Italian plum tomatoes (medium size)
 
1/4 cup red wine
 
1 bay leaf, crushed
 
1/4 teaspoon oregano
 
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
 
1 egg Parmesan cheese, grated

Directions

1. Cook the bacon until crisp and brown in a skillet. Remove, pat dry, and put aside.
2. Put the onion and garlic into the same skillet and saute until transparent. Add the tomatoes, red wine, and seasonings. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
3. Cook the fettuccine in boiling water until al dente.
4. Drain fettuccine and place in a serving bowl. Add bacon pieces and tomato sauce, mixing thoroughly.
5. Put a raw egg on top and serve.
6. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
