Festive Wild And White Rice Recipe

My longing for Festive Wild And White Rice strengthened during high school days. The primary ingredient in this is Rice. It is the answer when you look for a tasty Side Dish. Ingredients

 
1/2 cup wild rice
 
Water
 
Butter or margarine
 
1 small onion, diced
 
1 chicken-flavor bouillon cube or envelope
 
1 cup regular long-grain rice
 
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions

1. Rinse wild rice; drain. In 2-quart saucepan over high heat, heat 1 cup water to boiling; stir in wild rice. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 45 minutes or until rice is tender.
2. About 30 minutes before wild rice is done, in 4-quart saucepan over medium heat, in 2 tablespoons hot butter, cook onion until tender. Add bouillon and 2 cups water; over high heat, heat to boiling; stir in long-grain rice. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 20 minutes or until rice is tender. Stir wild rice into mixture in 4-quart saucepan; stir in salt and 2 tablespoons butter.
