Favorite Butter Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
Cookies:
1 cup Sweet Cream Butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons orange juice
1 teaspoon vanilla
Frosting:
4 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup Sweet Cream Butter, softened
3 to 4 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
Food coloring (optional)
Colored sugars, flakedcoconut and cinnamon candies for decoration
Directions
To prepare Cookies: In large bowl, cream butter and granulated sugar.
Add egg; beat until light and fluffy.
Add flour, baking powder, orange juice and vanilla; beat until well mixed.
Cover; refrigerate until firm, 2 to 3 hours.
Roll out dough, half at a time, 1/4 inch thick on well-floured surface.
Cut out with holiday cookie cutters.
Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake in preheated 400°F oven 6 to 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
Remove to wire racks to cool completely.

If desired, divide frosting into small bowls and tint with food coloring.
