Father Loyen S Chocolate Cake Recipe
Ingredients
1 1/2 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1 cup light brown sugar
3 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
6 Tbsp. cooking oil
1 Tbsp. cider vinegar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup water
2 Tbsp. butter
6 Tbsp. dark brown sugar
2 Tbsp. evaporated milk
1/3 cup chopped pecans
Directions
Sift the first 8 ingredients together into an 8 x 8 x 2 inch baking pan.
Make 3 holes in the flour mixture; pour oil in one, vinegar in the second and vanilla in the third.
Pour water over all.
Stir with a fork until all ingredients are blended (do not remove batter from pan).
Bake 45 minutes at 350°.
Soften butter and blend with rest of ingredients.
Spread over hot cake.
Place under broiler till brown.
