Fast-Rising Dinner Rolls Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 pkgs. (2 T.) dry yeast | ||
| Warm water | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Flour | 6 Cup (16 tbs), scooped | |
| 1/2 c. nonfat dry milk | ||
| Salt | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Warm water | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Eggs | 2 , beaten | |
| Salad oil | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
Add sugar and yeast to 1/2 cup warm water.
In large bowl or mixer, stir together flour, dry milk and salt.
Making a well in the center, add 2 cups water, yeast mixture, eggs and salad oil in that order.
Stir until well mixed, adding more flour, if needed, to make a soft dough.
Cover; allow to rise in warm place until double, about 1 hour.
Turn out onto lightly floured board and knead a few times.
Divide dough into half and roll each half into a circle.
Cut into quarters and divide each quarter into 4 pie-shaped pieces (16 total).
Roll into crescents and place on greased cookie sheet.
Allow to rise 20-60 minutes, depending on air temperature, until double in size.
Bake for 10-12 minutes at 400°, until golden brown.
Dough may be used for cinnamon or other kinds of rolls.
