Farmer's Gingerbread Recipe

Ingredients
1 tablespoon vinegar
2/3 cup milk
2 cups sifted all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon allspice
1/3 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup molasses
1 cup whipped cream
Directions
Add vinegar to milk; let stand.
Sift dry ingredients together.
Cream shortening; add sugar, beat until fluffy.
Beat in eggs and molasses.
Add dry ingredients alternately with the milk (which will be curdled).
Turn batter into 8 inch square glass baking dish sprayed with vegetable oil coating.
Cover with paper towel.
Bake in Radarange oven 12 minutes, turning dish quarter turn every 2 minutes.
Let stand 10 minutes before cutting in squares.
