Farina Or Kadayef With Cheese Recipe
Ingredients
| Farina | 1 pound | |
| 3 1/4 tablespoons sweet butter, melted | ||
| Dairy | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Water | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Monterey jack cheese | 1 3/4 Pound, grated | |
| Sugar | 2 Cup (16 tbs) (Syrup:) | |
| Water | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) (Syrup:) | |
| Lemon juice | 1 Tablespoon (Syrup:) | |
Directions
Place the farina in a mixing bowl and pour in the melted butter, mixing well.
Stir in the non-dairy creamer, blending thoroughly.
Add the water and mix until well combined.
Set aside for about two hours.
Pour the mixture into a lightly greased 12-inch round baking pan.
Bake at 400 degrees for about thirty minutes or until golden brown.
Spread the grated cheese evenly over the kadayef.
Very carefully invert into another pan of the same size.
Return to the oven and bake until the cheese has melted completely.
Meanwhile, prepare the syrup by combining the sugar and the water in a saucepan.
Bring to boil over high heat.
Reduce heat, and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
Add the lemon juice.
Simmer about ten minutes longer.
Pour the syrup over the cheese kadayef and serve hot
