Farina Torte Recipe

I got to try out this farina torte at my friend's place. My God, it was simply mind blowing! Farina torte makes a yummy dessert. Try this farina torte recipe and let me know what comes to your mind instantly after tasting it.

Ingredients

 
3 egg yolks
 
1/4 cup honey
 
3/8 cup farina
 
2 tablespoons dry, whole-grain bread crumbs
 
1/2 cup chopped nuts
 
3 egg whites, beaten stiff
 
1 cup heavy cream, whipped
 
1/2 cup heavy cream, whipped (additional for topping)
 
3/4 cup chopped fruit, berries, or nuts for garnish

Directions

Preheat oven to 350° F.and grease an 8 x 8-inch baking pan.
In a mixing bowl, beat egg yolks until light.
Add honey, farina, crumbs, and nuts.
Fold in egg whites.
Pour batter into prepared pan and bake in preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
Remove from oven and allow to cool.
Butter a round 1-quart mold or small, deep bowl.
Break cake into 1 1/2 inch pieces and layer into mold alternately with whipped cream until all is used.
Press lightly with a wooden spoon to fill mold solidly.
Chill until ready to use.
Run a knife around sides of mold and invert over fancy cake plate.
Cake should drop out easily.
Cover top and sides with whipped cream and garnish with fruit or nuts.
