Far Eastern Rutabagas Recipe
Ingredients
| Rutabagas | 2 Pound | |
| Low-sodium soy sauce-1 tablespoon | ||
| Canola oil | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Sesame oil | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Garlic | 2 Clove (5gm) | |
| Pepper red | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Scallions | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), thinly sliced | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1. Clean and peel the rutabagas
2. Cut them into ½ inch chunks and wash well again
3. In a large 3-quart saucepan, tip in the cubes of rutabagas, cover them with cold water, and cook over medium neat until lender. This will take about 20 to 25 minutes
4. Drain and set aside till required
MAKING
5. Return the cubes to the pan and stir over low heat till it dries out. This will take 2 minutes
6. In another saucepan, add the soy sauce, canola oil, sesame oil, garlic, and pepper and heat for 4 minutes
7. Add the rutabagas and toss well
8. Heat for 2 minutes
SERVING
9. Serve sprinkled with scallions
