Directions

GETTING READY
1 In a bowl, infuse the tea bag in hot water.
2 Place the dried prunes in the tea while preparing the cake. This will make the prunes soft and tender.
3 Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
4 Grease a baking dish with butter and line it with parchment paper.

MAKING
5 In a bowl, sift the flour and combine sugar and salt with it.
6 In a separate bowl, beat the 2 eggs.
7 In a saucepan, heat the milk.
8 Once the milk reaches a boiling point, add the butter and vanilla extract to it and remove it from the heat.
9 Incorporate the eggs into the flour mixture.
10 Gradually, add the milk, mixing well until all the flour is dissolved.
11 Add in the prunes and mix well.
12 Pour the cake batter in the prepared baking pan making sure that the prunes are equally distributed.
13 Bake the cake at 450 F degrees for 15 minutes.
14 After 15 minutes, reduce the oven temperature to 400 degrees F and bake the cake for another 15 minutes.
15 Reduce the oven temperature again to 360 degrees F and bake the cake for 30 minutes or until done.
16 To check that your cake is done, insert a toothpick in the center of the cake, it should come out clean.

SERVING
17 You can serve the cake warm or cold (place the cake in the refrigerator).
18 Sift powdered sugar on top of the cake before serving.
