Ingredients
1 1/2 cups butter
2 tablespoons shallots, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, mashed
2 tablespoons parsley,finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon salt
Dash of pepper
Pinch of nutmeg
48 snails
48 snail shells
Bread crumbs (optional)
2 tablespoons dry white wine

Directions
Cream butter in a mixing bowl.
Add shallots, garlic, parsley, salt, pepper and nutmeg.
Mix until you have a smooth green paste.
Preheat oven to 400°.
Wash and drain snails according to directions on can.
Wash snail shells thoroughly according to directions.
Put a little snail butter in the bottom of each shell.
Add a snail.
Fill shell with butter mixture.
Place shells in snail dishes or in flat baking dish, with open ends up.
Sprinkle with bread crumbs.
Pour wine in bottom of each dish.
