Escargot Recipe
I first tried Escargot at my Italian neighbors party. The taste completely bowled me over; asked them for the recipe and since then it has become a staple Sunday item in my household . The Italian Escargot is a delight to serve and enjoy. Enjoy this dish with your kin and friends and get back to me with all that they have said.
Ingredients
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon parsley flakes
1 tablespoon finely chopped shallots or onion
1 can ( 4 1/2-ounces) snails with shells
Directions
Soften butter slightly in measuring cup or small bowl.
Add garlic powder, parsley flakes and shallots and cream well.
Wash and drain snails.
Place 1/4 teaspoon butter mixture in each shell.
Place snails in shells.
Pack remaining butter mixture into shells to seal.
Place 6 at a time in escargot dish or on small plate.
Microwave 3 minutes on '5', or until butter begins to bubble.
Serve with crusty bread.
Note: Make ahead and refrigerate until needed.
