English Plum Pudding Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 lb. seeded raisins | ||
| Currants | 1 Pound | |
| Seedless raisins | 1 Pound | |
| Peel | 1 Pound, mixed | |
| Suet | 1 Pound | |
| 1 loaf bread, broken into crumbs (crusts removed) | ||
| Eggs | 6 | |
| 1 1/2 to 2 bottles ale, enough to moisten | ||
| Nutmeg | 1 Teaspoon, grated | |
| Cinnamon | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Allspice | 1 Teaspoon | |
| 1 tablespoon almond flavoring | ||
Directions
Wash and dry fruit, and flour it.
Chop peel, suet, and crumb bread.
Mix together.
Beat eggs well and add spices and ale.
Grease bowls well, pack pudding in tightly, cover with waxed paper and tie in cloth.
Steam 6 to 7 hours - less if done in small bowls
