This recipe for english mincemeat is prepared with kidney suet along with apples, currants and raisins. Mixed along with mixed fruit peels and spices like nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon and brownsugar , the enlish mincemeat can be stored in the fridge in a jar.

Ingredients

 Currants1 Pound, dried
 Seedless raisins1 Pound
 Apples3 Large, chopped
 Peel1 Pound (Mixed Fruit Peel)
 Salt2 Tablespoon
 Kidney suet1 Pound, chopped
 Lemon1 , juiced and peel grated
 Brown sugar1 Pound
 Ground nutmeg To Taste
 Allspice To Taste
 Cinnamon To Taste

Directions

Wash currants and raisins.
Chop apples without removing skins.
Combine all ingredients.
Mix thoroughly.
Turn into a large covered jar.
Store in refrigerator.
