English Mincemeat Recipe
This recipe for english mincemeat is prepared with kidney suet along with apples, currants and raisins. Mixed along with mixed fruit peels and spices like nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon and brownsugar , the enlish mincemeat can be stored in the fridge in a jar.
Ingredients
| Currants | 1 Pound, dried | |
| Seedless raisins | 1 Pound | |
| Apples | 3 Large, chopped | |
| Peel | 1 Pound (Mixed Fruit Peel) | |
| Salt | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Kidney suet | 1 Pound, chopped | |
| Lemon | 1 , juiced and peel grated | |
| Brown sugar | 1 Pound | |
| Ground nutmeg | To Taste | |
| Allspice | To Taste | |
| Cinnamon | To Taste |
Directions
Wash currants and raisins.
Chop apples without removing skins.
Combine all ingredients.
Mix thoroughly.
Turn into a large covered jar.
Store in refrigerator.
