English Toffee Recipe
Ingredients
| Sweetened condensed milk | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Firmly packed light brown sugar | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Light corn syrup | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Butter/Margarine | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1/8 Teaspoon |
Directions
In a heavy saucepan, combine sweetened condensed milk, sugar and corn syrup.
Cook over medium heat; stir constantly until mixture begins to boil.
Reduce heat to low.
Cook; stir constantly to 236°F. on candy thermometer or until a small amount dropped in cold water forms a firm ball.
Remove from heat; stir in butter and salt.
Pour into lightly buttered 8-inch square pan.
Cool.
Cut into squares.
