Ingredients

 
Salad:
 
5 medium Belgian endives (about 3 ounces each)
 
1/2 cup chopped watercress leaves
 
6 cherry tomatoes, cut into quarters
 
Dressing:
 
1 teaspoon each sesame seed, toasted, lemon juice, rice vinegar, and water
 
1/2 garlic clove, mashed
 
Dash salt

Directions

To Prepare Salad: Separate each endive into individual leaves.
Line a clear 1-quart salad bowl with endive leaves with tips facing rim of bowl like flower petals.
Fill center of bowl with chopped watercress; top watercress with cherry tomato quarters, arranged in a circular pattern.
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
To Prepare Dressing: Using a mortar and pestle, mash sesame seed.
In small bowl or cup combine mashed seed with lemon juice, vinegar, water, garlic, and salt; mix well.
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
To Serve: Stir dressing and pour over salad.
