| American Cheese | 1 pound, cubed | |
| Evaporated milk | 13 Ounce | |
| Ground beef | 1 pound | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Garlic salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Corn tortillas | 12 | |
| Shortening | ||
| Green chiles | 4 Ounce, frozen | |
| Onion | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
Directions
1 Melt the cheese in the evaporated milk.
2 Fry ground beef until browned. Add salt and garlic salt. Pour off fat.
3 Dip tortillas into 1/2 inch of hot shortening on each side until soft.
4 Place ingredients in a greased 2-quart casserole dish, starting with tortillas. Add ground beef, chiles and onion; repeat.
5 Pour cheese mixture over entire dish and cover.
6 Bake in a 350°F. oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
