Eggs Baked with Cheese Recipe
Ingredients
| Eggs | 4 | |
| Cheese | 1/4 Pound | |
| Onions - 2 medium-sized , finely chopped | ||
| Butter | 5 Tablespoon | |
| Firm-textured white bread slices - 4, cut into 3- to 4-inch [8- to 10-cm.] rounds and fried in butter | ||
| Beef Stock | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Ground pepper | 1 To taste | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1.Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
MAKING
2.Heat 2 tablespoons (30ml.) of butter and fry onions in it until soft and transparent.
3.Take a deep round dish, spread the fried onions in it and top it with bread croutons.
4.Drizzle the stock sufficient to cover the bread.
5.On each crouton, break an egg and top it with shredded cheese.
6.Add a sprinkling of pepper on the top.
7.Heat the leftover butter and drizzle it over the eggs.
8.Put the dish in the oven or hot broiler and bake for 7 minutes until the eggs are firm and cheese melts.
SERVING
9.Serve immediately.
