MAKING
1.In a bowl, stir the sugar gradually into the milk or water
2.Add vanilla
3.More sugar may be added if the frosting is not thick enough
4.Any fruit juice or flavored liquid such as strong coffee or maple-syrup may be used instead of milk or water
5.Crushed berries mixed with the sugar give a pleasing frosting
6.Two tablespoons cocoa may be mixed with the sugar
7.One half square of melted chocolate may be added

8.Serve over cakes or pastries
