Egg Yolks On Toast Recipe
Ingredients
| Egg yolks | 6 | |
| Firm-textured white bread slices - 6, cut 1 inch [2 1/2 cm.] thick, and the crusts removed | ||
| Butter | 4 Tablespoon | |
| White sauce | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Parmesan cheese | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), freshly grated | |
| Ground cinnamon or grated nutmeg - 4 tsp. | ||
| Salt | 1 To taste | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1.Cut a round from the center of every bread slice.
2.Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
MAKING
3.Fry the hollowed bread in heated butter until golden.
4.Take an ovenproof serving dish, arrange the bread slices on it and put an egg yolk in each rounded hollow.
5.Heat the white sauce lightly and add cheese, cinnamon or nutmeg with a pinch of salt to it.
6.Once the sauce settles at room temperature, drizzle it over bread and yolks.
7.Bake the breads for 15 minutes until the yolk sets but is not hard.
SERVING
8.Serve immediately.
