Edenton Tea Party Cakes Recipe
Ingredients

| Butter | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 2 large cups brown sugar | ||

| 1 teaspoon soda, dissolved in little hot water | ||
| Vanilla | 1 Teaspoon | |
Directions
Cream butter, sugar, and eggs together; add the soda which has been dissolved in a small amount or hot water.
Add vanilla, then enough of the flour to make a stiff dough.
Roll out thin, cut into shapes, and bake in hot oven.
